I am currently away on a big project. It’s a historical tour of the UK for two guests, and it’s requiring fire on all cylinders. Alas, I haven’t found the space to write enough to keep up the pace, and my woes were compounded by the fact that last week I accidentally posted two articles at once! Bummer!
I shall therefore promote the second, less-loved article of the two as if it were this week’s post:
Train Your Enthusiasm, an article about the strange phenomenon of ‘railfans’
My stored-up articles are a precious resource. The way I tend to write on here is to stockpile written pieces like an apocalypse ‘prepper’, and then burn through them when ideas and energy are less forthcoming.
But I’ll also offer a thought on ‘not writing’. This project has been a useful reminder to me that, regardless of the number of hours we might be able to squeeze out of a day, there is only a certain amount of mental energy we can muster. This is a completely different resource to just time. Respect that resource!
Normal programming will resume next week…
